Slumber Party
First off I would like to wish Amanda a fabulous birthday! We had a great weekend...at least I hope she did too :) I am loving this apartment, and I cannot wait until fall when we can all have dinners for each other! Amanda and I were talking about doing a bible study with all the girls. But 9 girls sounds like a big group for some of us shy ones to get a word in. That's why we want to shoot out the idea of say, Britney Amanda Me and Danyelle going to the third floor of the house, and the other girls going to another floor. We would all study the same thing and then the last like 15 minutes get together and if there is anything great we want to share then we can do that then? Props to Amanda for the idea, I'm just getting it out there so it'll actually happen. Let me know what you all think and if you have anything better to add to it! Miss you all!!

ReplyDeleteWell, I think thats a great idea!!! That way we can voice what we want to say around people were confortable talking with. Plus i cant wait to have everyone over to the apartment for dinner, movies, and fun! haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you two agree with our thought process haha. I imagine the other girls would be okay with it too... at least, I hope they will be. I don't know exactly what we will be/should be studying... so if you have any ideas that would be wonderful. I've been looking for a bible study that is primarily for college students, or girls. But, since Beth Anne is the only one with a boyfriend, and obviously none of us are married, I think some of the ones aimed towards girl won't really apply to our lives. So, anyways, if you have any ideas or are just really wanting to study a certain book, or a certain topic, then just let me know. I'm hoping we can start a weekly study a week before or around the beginning of school - if that works for you all. I'm really looking forward to it. I've gotten to know you all really well this past year, but as Beth Anne and I were saying, it seems like we just know surface(ish) level stuff, and not as much spiritual stuff as we should. I'm hoping we can get to know each other even better, and encourage and help with each one's struggles. I'm sure I'll have more to add as it gets closer. :)

ReplyDeleteI think that is a great idea for you all to get to know each other on deeper levels. It is really important as christians to share one another's burdens and I think a weekly bible study for you all would be a great way to foster those kind of relationships.
As a side note, I do also want to encourage each of you to get to know an older girl in that way also. The Lord uses people who may be farther along in their walk to teach and encourage. I know that the relationships I've had with a few older girls have taught me so much and have been incredibly encouraging.
As to what to study, I would suggest something on biblical womanhood, like how to live a christ centered life as a young woman. Just a suggestion!
One of my friends from summer project says there's a good Ephesians study on UNC Cru's website. So if we want to do something like that and someone else suggested 1 Peter. Of course we can also find a track or whatever.
